We’ve no control over how this platform is structured and run and never will. We shouldn’t kid ourselves that it can be anything other than what the creators decide it is because it is a private commercial Enterprise. It’s not a community cooperative so forget about it. The only solution is to gain whatever you can from it while possible – direct your readers to your own self hosted web property.

I believe, and write about this often, that in order to create something worthwhile, something that retains creative integrity beyond commercial gain, then it must be kept small.

For what it’s worth, I feel what you feel, but maybe the answer is to gather like-minded people and build something that matches the ideals you stand for rather than waste energy trying to change the direction of the Medium corporate.
