Well I’m glad I don’t need to sort it out. In my country cops don’t carry guns, only specialist crime units. There’s no gun culture, only perhaps farmers hold a weapon, and even thats rare, so I don’t understand it. We have criminals and burglars and nasty types just like you do, but nobody here is rushing out to buy a gun.l to protect themselves.
The US have a very complex issue. however, it’s my opinion looking in from the outside, away from the emotionality of it all, that it is fundamentally the cultural and psychological attachment to guns that is the problem. Add to that the chasm that is the racial and cultural divide, and those who would prod that up to now sleeping dog, and you have the potential for disaster.
