This came up today in an audio lecture I’m listening to from Alan Watts. He was talking about going with the grain in wood, allowing the weight of the saw to do the work. All very difficult to explain, but easy to know once you’ve put the time in to develop the expertise. I’m a tradesman so I could relate.
