About ten or fifteen years ago I held a particular view about success. I was very ambitious and believed that those who were not ambitious, who were happy to work solo or with a small crew were playing small and that was to be looked down on.
I realise now that that mindset was more than a little naive and it could be said, set the scene for the downward trend I was to later experience. But all told, I understand all of that had a purpose.
There is merit in taking a chance, even if it is a naive chance. Besides, how much research do you want to do before taking a step forward? You can read and research and get advice but none of that is worth a damn if you don't take a bet on yourself and stick your neck out.
There is absolute merit in failing, in fucking it up.
