I’m in rural Donegal this week, on the northwest coast of Ireland. There’s nothing much going on here, but at the same time, there is everything going on. I’m staying with my family in a camper van in the dunes on a long sandy beach and little to do except think and spend time staring at the ocean.
The sky at night is amazing here. The stars are so clear and more numerous than they could ever be in the city. The sunsets are amazing too. It’s a perfect setting for contemplation.
And I have been writing, although I do feel a little guilty about spending time on my laptop. So, at night when the family go to bed, I’ve been taking three or four hours to get some thoughts down.
