I liked this article. You know, we have such a negative relationship with work. To most of us it is a transactional relationship; I give you hours, you give me money. It’s got to be more than that if we are to create something meaningful and valuable for ourselves or others. For work to be fulfilling it must have a deeper meaning. There must be purpose, curiosity, engagement, thrill. But unfortunately that’s not how we live.

Society tells us we must meet it’s idealistic notion of what a valuable member of society means. We become pawns for the machine instead of creators of our own lives. Work is a means to an end. No wonder we become lost.

But maybe, even in that there is value because it may help us wake up and see what we really are.

Thanks for writing!
