I can agree with the first part of the quote, but the second part, “their goal is to solve a problem” is incomplete. When I write or draw, it’s not because I have a problem I need to solve. I don’t know why I do these things. In fact, it’s more accurate to say they these things do themselves. It seems that I have an unconscious need to express something and I don’t know what it is. So I either go with it or I don’t. I can’t coax or coerce it.
