I agree with you. I believe there is a ton of poorly thought out and subsequently poorly written content on Medium. Much of it produced in an attempt to save you and me from our depressed, under achieving lives. It’s exhausting to read. However, many people seem to get value from it. Best thing is to ignore it, focus on creating material of substance.
But keep in mind, the headline needs to draw people in. If we can’t craft a headline that gets people’s attention our stuff doesn’t get read. After we get their attention the content needs to back it up.
After a while delivering content that backs up the headline people get used to it and the headline doesn’t matter so much. That’s especially so when sending readers a new article via email. That’s why you open Sam Harris’ material.
Starting out at zero we need to attract people to our stuff, then deliver. That’s the way it has to be for everyone be they in business, art or whatever. Get the attention of people and keep it.
